HES List Server Message
April 19, 2018
Hello Holland Elementary Families,
I hope that all of you are doing well. A great week at school will be capped off on Friday afternoon when we participate in our Jared Box Project. Our students will work with their classmates to gather items for a box that they will design and fill to be distributed to children who receive treatment at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. Our generous PTO purchased the boxes, and we've been collecting donated materials from families - looks like we're all set!
HES takes seriously the Travis Manion Foundation’s motto of, “If not me, then who,” and we hope to instill a spirit of giving and compassion in our students.

THIRD MARKING PERIOD REPORT CARDS
Report Cards will be open to view on Monday, April 23rd. After 4:00 pm, parents will be able to log onto their account on the Home Access Center (HAC) and view their child’s report card.
PSSA Testing
The administration of PSSA testing for ELA (English Language Arts) and Math is now complete, and the students have done such an awesome job. Their work ethic has been so impressive as the teachers emphasized "finishing strong" - and the students did just that! Next week is our Science session for fourth grade on Tuesday, April 24th and Wednesday, April 25th.
As we continue with our assessments next week, please encourage your children to get a good night’s rest, eat breakfast, and come to school in comfortable clothing.
In addition, although it is not always possible, it is best to avoid having children take make-up tests. Therefore, it is helpful to schedule necessary appointments outside the testing times and have your child present at school each day on time. If any student arrives to school after the 9:30 a.m. test start time, students will need to make up the missed assessment on another day. We know that the children will be successful when they give their best effort, and the staff and I appreciate your support.
