Weekly Remote Learning Update
Phase 3 of Remote Learning:
However, at Academy High School, we will continue to access Empower as our learning platform just as in Phase 2. Our curriculum scope and sequence is unique to our campus based on course sequencing and projects. We are pleased to continue to offer learning through a platform familiar to our learners.
As such, below you will find a new Empower video that references a playlist as well as screen shots of an example Activity describing the included steps for your reference.

Facilitator Communication:
Graduation...
We are working with Jostens to provide a curbside pick up of your cap and gown in the coming weeks. While graduation has not been cancelled, we still do not have any information about graduation at this time. We recognize the importance of this milestone and are awaiting further district guidance regarding our next steps. Graduation cords are a special part of our tradition, and we are working on a plan to provide cords to our seniors for their special recognitions.
Empower - User Friendly Video:
Activities in Empower: Each activity in Empower has 4 steps

Step 2: Action: Includes assignment directions, resources, links, and steps for completion as well as where learners upload completed assignments.
Step 3: My Locker: This is where learners submit their uploaded work or link their assignment evidence.
Step 4: Feedback: Where the facilitator provides feedback on learning

Senior Transcript Requests:
We are here to help ~ Any senior that needs a high school transcript to be sent to a college or university will need to follow the same process as before and request a transcript through Naviance.
If any learner needs a copy of their transcript for a scholarship, internship, or the like, they will need to request a copy of the transcript through the following link:
https://myforms.pisd.edu/Forms/TRequest
Be sure to provide an email address that we can use to reach you with any questions we may have. The transcript will be sent as a password protected PDF.
If you have any questions regarding transcripts, please contact Ashley Madding, registrar, at ashley.madding@pisd.edu.
Carter BloodCare:
Due to COVID-19, Carter BloodCare operations and staff have been shifted to the donor centers for the month of April so there will not be a Carter bus to accept donors in the school's lot on April 16th as previously scheduled.
Furthermore, because of the urgent need for blood donors to help supply the demand needed during this time, Nurse Adams would like to urge everyone that is able to visit a nearby Carter BloodCare Center. They have multiple sites throughout the area and hours of operation vary for each. Interested students, staff, parents and friends may visit their website and set an appointment at a location of their choosing. These selfless acts of blood donation will save lives!
