Monday - November 10, 2014

This week is National Young Readers Week. This yearly celebration is sponsored by Pizza Hut and The Center for the Book in the Library of Congress. We started the week by watching online the book, Rattletrap Car, written by Phyllis Root. It is about a family trying to get to the lake on a hot day in their old car. The whole family works together and is very creative in solving problems when the car breaks down four times.

We celebrated Veteran Day with a flag parade to honor veterans. Kindergarten carried American flags that they had made and decorated. Later in the day, the golf teams from Center High School visited the library to make plans for reading to us. Coach Alden Reeves drove them over in a school bus. They plan to come back tomorrow and read some books to us as we continue to celebrate National Young Readers Week.

Wednesday - November 12, 2014

Ms. Fults' class watched online the book, if the Dinosaurs Came Back written by Bernard Most. The book tells some really interesting things that dinosaurs might do if they came back.

Coach Reeves and the Center High School golf teams returned today and read stories to Ms. Fitzgerald's class in the library. Everyone seemed to really have a great time.

Thursday - November 13, 2014

Today Coach Reeves and the CHS golf teams returned for a third day to help us celebrate National Young Readers Week at F. L. Moffett Primary School. Today, they read to Ms. Fentress' class. We also listened and watched online to a book. Pizza Hut has provided access to five books on a website as part of their Book It program.

Friday - November 14, 2014

Today, Ms. Covington's class noticed the smell of something yummy in the library, BREAD.

Then, they discussed the steps in the process that you go thru in order to successfully bake bread or pumpkin pie. Some of Ms. Rowlett's class returned their book and got another one. The CHS golf teams returned today and read to us. We hope they get to come back next week.
