Week of Sept. 16th

Important Dates/Events for the Week:
- 2 hour delay for students/staff
- Staff must report by or before 9:30
- Students will begin being able to come in the building at 9:35. We will hold them back as long as we can, but every 2 hour delay, we have many drop offs prior to 9:35.
- Kindergarten PLC
- Sunshine Committee Meeting after dismissal in media center
Tuesday, Sept. 18th:
- 4th/5th grade half day BUF training at Horton
- Digital Leadership Team Meeting in Mandy's room after dismissal
- PBIS Team Meeting in Media Center after dismissal
Wednesday, Sept. 19th:
- 3rd/4th/1st PLC (notice change for 3rd due to 2 hour delay Monday)
- 1:00 - 2:30 - Principal of the Year Nominee Committee to Visit NCE
Thursday, Sept. 20th:
- 2nd/3rd grade half day BUF training at Horton
- 5th PLC
Friday, Sept. 21st:
- 2nd PLC (notice the change of day due to BUF training)

Updates/Reminders:
- A two-hour delay for employees means everyone should report no later than two hours after their normal required arrival time (ie, if the regular start time is 7:30, they should report by 9:30). Although not expected, employees may come in earlier than the 2 hour delay if they choose. The building will be open at 7:00.
- Breakfast will be served for any student that would like breakfast from 9:35 - 9:55.
- Classroom teachers, please adjust your schedules to include reading and math for students tomorrow. These subjects need to happen every day! With such a late start, please leave recess out of your schedule tomorrow...everything is super wet and they've had recess for several days at home! : )
- Specials will begin at 10:05 for 4th grade and will follow the normal schedule from there.
- Lunch will follow the schedule on the Delayed Opening Tab on the NCE Master Schedule Tab. Kindergarten classes should eat in their room.
- Please be safe in the morning! Custodians will have the building unalarmed as early as 7:00. Please be sure that you are safe coming in if you decide to come in that early.
- Classified employees (on the time clock) are required to either make up time missed due to the delay (by this Friday), take annual leave, apply comp time, or take the time without pay.
Mclass Continues:
- BOY mClass Schedule - We will continue our work tomorrow. Support staff and teachers, please work to assess with urgency.
- Please remember to log in through PowerSchool and NOT mClass.
- We are not completely out of the woods with PowerSchool/Amplify issues. Therefore, Amplify stated that teachers MUST sync before starting, during testing, and after testing each student. If any students are removed or moved due to a system error, the data would have been saved to Amplify's mainframe. If you fail to do this and there is a system error, your work will be lost and you'll have to start over.
- Remember to NOT INVALIDATE!! See Mandy or Brittany if there is an issue.
- 4th and 5th grade teachers, we are only testing 25% of the students in each grade level. You are not testing everyone. A 4th grade group and a 5th grade group were created in mClass for you to utilize. Fourth and Fifth grade teachers should go to "change class" and click on their grade level's group to ensure you are assessing the correct students.
- We still have not heard about a change in the mClass testing window and we want to create I/E groups soon; so please work on completing your TRCs with urgency. Some teachers have not even begun their assessing yet.
- All teachers should be in mClass. Please let Brittany or Mandy know if you are having trouble accessing your class.
Public School Works: Please work to meet these deadlines. This is a requirement for all staff. All new staff members, please continue to check and see if you are able to begin. This is a district requirement for all staff members. The website, dates, and classes are also listed under the staff page of our website.
Bulletin Boards: As we begin the third week, please begin to get (if you haven't already) student work up on bulletin boards.
Field Trip Projection forms that were given out at our opening K-5 meeting are due to Carla by Sept 24th. Let Carla know if you need more time.
Sub Plans Anytime you have a sub, please instruct them in your plans to eat lunch with your class. They are on the clock and not in need of planning.
Bulletin Boards - Some bulletin boards are still blank! Please help! It is always awesome to see student work up!
