8th Grade HNHS Scheduling Appointment Information
On Thursday, Feb 22nd and Friday, Feb 23rd, HNHS counselors will be at Crestview to sign students up for classes for their 9th grade year. Parents are welcome to attend the appointment with their student which will take place in the Crestview Media Center. If you want to attend with your student, please arrive at least 5 minutes early so we do not get behind with appointments. We only have the counselors for 2 days and they have appointments all day long with students.
Please try to avoid scheduling any outside appointments for your student on these days. We really want every 8th grader to meet with an HNHS counselor! Also know that if something happens and your student does miss their appointment, we will do everything we can to get the appointment made up.
Make sure your child is ready for the appointment with a list of classes they need and want to take. Language Arts, Math and Science teachers will recommend what class your student should take for 9th grade. They know the level of rigor in each class as well as your student’s capabilities in each area.
If your student is in Special Services, a Special Services teacher will also be at your student’s appointment.
Mrs. Brunson will meet with all 8th graders in their Language Arts class on Monday and Tuesday of that week. She will answer any questions they have. This is an exciting time for your student! Help them plan so they can stay engaged in their education during their 4 years of high school.
