Just a few reminders as we come back into school!
Return to Excellence Reopening Parent & Student Handbook
Reminders -
1. Make sure your student has a change of clothes in their backpack ( for potty accidents, food spills, mud puddles)
2. All Medications need to brought to the Clinic by a Parent/Guardian- All Prescription medications should have signed MD note with them.
COVID Discussion:
1.Please keep your child home if sick
a. Fever above 100.0, chills, feeling feverish, sore throat, new cough, shortness of breath, diarrhea, vomiting loss of taste or smell, Runny nose, congestion
b. Keep your student home if they have these symptoms and call Nurse Lance on guidance for when they can return to school
2.If you believe your student has symptoms of COVID, please keep them home and call your doctor for guidance. Please also call Nurse Lance.
3.If you believe your student was exposed to COVID ( by close contact/family member), please keep your child home and call Nurse Lance for guidance.
4. All students that come to the DPES Clinic during the school day will be assessed by Nurse Lance or other Health Services Staff. We may call you to help determine if your student can continue the day at school or needs to go home due to illness. Please make sure all your numbers are updated in the system and answer any phone calls from the school to prevent issues.
Screening Updates:
We will begin screening students in PK, K, 1st and 3rd grades for State Mandated Health Screenings ( Hearing, Vision, Height and Weight) In October. You will be notified if your student did not pass and will be referred to speak with your doctor regarding the next steps to help your student. Please make sure if your student wears glasses that they are wearing them every day.

Car Rider Line Reminders
As a reminder -
- We are asking that students sit in back seat when available.
- Please be sure to have proper seating and safety restraints for all students.
- To minimize touch and prevent spread of illness, we ask that you help in buckling your students in before exiting the car rider line.
- If you need assistance, please let us know, but staff is focused on loading students into seats. We ask that parents please secure all safety restraints.

Child Nutrition - October Menu
Lost and Found - "Find it Friday"
- We still have unclaimed items from 2019-2020 that we want to ensure your child gets back.
- We will display these items each Friday ("Find it Friday") in cafe, near dismissal lines. If a student sees their item, they will let an adult know and the adult will retrieve. Parents will not be allowed in the building to retrieve or locate due to current district guidelines.
- We do not have space to store items not "found". Any unclaimed items will be donated at the end of each nine weeks. The first marking period ends Oct 23rd.
- It is important that you label everything that goes to school. Any items with names, will be returned to owners.
Red Ribbon Week- October 26-30, 2020
Monday, October 26th- Red Ribbon Day- wear red; all students will receive a red ribbon
Tuesday, October 27th- Put A Lid on Drugs- wear a hat or sun visor
Wednesday, October 28th- Team Up Against Drugs- wear team shirt or favorite sports jersey
Thursday, October 29th- Sock It to Drugs- wear a pair of funny, crazy, or mismatched socks
Friday, October 30th- Shade Out Drugs- wear shadesTechnology Help
