Principal's Message
This week is October already?! Students are engaged in their learning and teachers are commenting on the high motivation they are seeing from students in their classes this year! Please ask open ended questions to your students about their learning. Some ideas:
- What activity did you do in (name a class) today?
- What has been the best part of school this week?
- Which one of your classes do you like the best and why?
- What is different this year about school? The same?
A reminder that if you need to pick up your child during the day, please do so before 3:00pm. If you are needing the child after, you will need to wait until 3:35 when school dismisses. This is to ensure our students remain safe and accounted for during the end of school day procedures.
We value parent and community involvement as educating our students is a team effort. Feel free to reach out any time! We are Simon Strong!

Remote Conferencing for Temporary Absences
Hello Hays CISD Students and Staff! We have a new program this year, approved by the state, called Remote Conferencing. This program serves those students who have tested positive from COVID 19 or need to quarantine due to a close contact. We know that everyone reacts differently to this virus, and want to be able to provide some continuity for our students when they start feeling better!
Now that you are feeling better, but still have to stay home, you are welcome to start catching up on the work that’s been assigned to you in your Schoology Courses. We have teachers that are available to assist you in those courses.
To access those teachers, you will need to start off in Classlink and find the Remote Conferencing app. It should be towards the end of the buttons on your dashboard. When you click on this, it will take you to the Remote Conferencing Website. There will be a schedule of when teachers will be available to assist you.
A few reminders:
Remote Conferencing Instructional Support begins at (9:05 a.m. for Middle School) (9:45 a.m. for High School) and attendance will be taken at 10:20 a.m. each day.
To meet attendance requirements, students must be logged on and participating at 10:20 a.m. each day. Attendance policies will be enforced.
Four hours of instructional support is offered each day.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out!
