WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Please send your child(ren) to school each day and on time. We do understand that circumstances arise, but please know that attendance matters.
Students should stay at home only if they:
-Have fever
-Had fever in the last 24 hours
-Have COVID
-Were directly exposed to COVID and are showing symptoms (test results pending)
Remember, all students are required to be in attendance for at least 90% of the school year to get credit for that grade level. Excessive absences may lead to:
**Learning Loss
**Truancy
**Transfers being revoked
***Emotional strain on students
**Disruptions in the learning environment (upon return)
**Failing Grades/Retention
***Student drop outs
Academic/Attendance Check Time: Reports cards, 1st-5th, are ready on HAC! So, review your child's grades and attendance with them and determine which range your child falls in for attendance and grades! MAKE AN ATTENDANCE AND ACADEMIC GOAL with your child! There are three more nine weeks to go! It's never too late to improve!
Attendance Rate Percentages:
1 absence - 97%
2 absences - 95%
3 absences - 92.8%
4 absences -90%
90% is the STATE REQUIREMENT for the school year!
More than 4 absences at this time (without a positive COVID result on file) exposes our Bobcats to the consequences/implications listed above.

S.E.L. At Home (Social Emotional Learning)
Hello Families,
Have you noticed a change in behavior and not quite sure why? Here is a strategy that you can use to bring social and emotional learning into your home and get to know more about your scholar.
Have Meaningful Conversations
In my experience as a teacher, I found that four topics always helped my students be their best selves. Those topics are: Positive Self-Talk, Coping Strategies, Kindness, and Goal Setting. All of these things can be at the core of their SEL at home experience. Below are a few examples of what your conversations could be like:
Positive Self-Talk – What is your favorite part of you on the inside?
Coping Strategies – Practice mindful breathing together.
Kindness – What could you do to thank a community helper?
Goal Setting – Child’s Goal: I will say sorry when I hurt someone’s feelings. Conversation Topic: How will this goal affect others?
I hope you have enjoyed this week's tip from S.E.L. At Home. Have a great week!
