D day
After America became a World War II combat the war started to get a lot worse.
Many battles started to occur , people were taken hostage, and countries were taken over. One of the worst events of World War II was a battle called D - day. D day was a battle fought by America and our allies Australia, United kingdom , Canada, and Free French against the Nazis and their allies Belgian forces and some free French. D day was one of the major turning points of World War II. On that day alone 4,413 American soldiers died. After d day ten thousand American troops were wounded, dead , missing or captured. Although America had struggles throughout the war they were still able to win the war. The men and women who were part of these events made a choice to fight for their country no matter what it took , they knew that some events would happen but they want to defend their country.
American Military supplies and tranning
One reason why America was able to fight back against the Nazis and win the war is because of their technology. Their technology back then is not near as good as the technology that the world has today but it still help them through the war. Their technology had to do with guns, trucks , tanks and things like that. All of these things help America in different ways. They had guns such as m14 rifles , some assault rifles , pistols , and other weapons so that we could protect them from the Nazis . Jeeps helped us because we could get around and transport our supplies to other military bases if they had to leave one. America also had so jets for transportation but there were mainly used for fighting. Tanks helped us fight too because they are made out of copper and metal which makes hard to destroy; this is why tanks were one of the best things to use while in combat. People who fought in the were had to know how to use this technology before they could go to combat, if you wanted to be in the air force you would learn have to fly a jet . Most of the soldiers in training were taught how to use this type of technology. They made a risk for having to fly plane to fight against the Nazsi for above, risking their lives so that America could stay free even though some of this technology was new to them.
Conclusion
The men and women who fought in World War II made a choice to risk their lives so that our country would not lose its freedom to the Nazis. They fought for their country no matter what it took. Even if it was learning how fly a jet or learn how to use a tank, becoming part of the worst battle of the war; but none of that mattered to them. The only thing that mattered was to keep their country safe.
