Picking-up Children

Please remember when picking up your child, only come to the office. Be prepared to show your photo ID. We will compare your ID to what is listed on our Aeries Account. Thank you in advance for your support on this. We really saw an error in our practice and are trying to correct it. Your child's safety is our utmost importance.

If your student is absent...

Please ONLY contact our Attendance Secretary, Misty Kirk-Nimr at kirknimrm@mdusd.org OR call 925-672-4840 x84502. Parent Square messages are not making it to Misty. If you have questions regarding returning to school after your child has been sick, please contact Misty as well.

As a reminder, especially during a pandemic, do not send your child to school if they are sick.

Big picture

Picture Make-up Day

Wednesday, October 6 has been scheduled as our Picture Make-up day. Students will be pulled from their classrooms to take their photos and return quickly thereafter. We know some did not get a chance to actually take pictures and this will be your first chance to take them. We will work with the photo company to see if a 2nd (make-up day) is even possible.

Headphones

Please make sure to have a set of headphones (not air pods or earbuds please.) In your child's backpack. This way when classes go to the computer lab or use Chromebooks, each student will be able to hear their system. We will certainly have some on campus, however they will be shared. Please make every effort to have them in their backpacks by Tuesday, 9/7/2021.

Parent Volunteers

Welcome Back Volunteers! An update has been made to the MDUSD volunteer policy allowing us to welcome back on-campus and in the classroom volunteers! We are thrilled to have you all back collaborating with our school team.

Starting September 1, 2021, all volunteers on campus will need to wear a mask (indoors and outdoors) as well as complete the volunteer requirements through our Human Resources Department https://mdusd.org/volunteer. In addition to completing the traditional steps to volunteer (TB test and fingerprinting), all volunteers will need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for Covid-19.

After you have complete the steps listed on the Human Resources volunteer section, volunteers will need to provide the school office with proof of being fully vaccinated. We are able to accept a vaccination card, picture of vaccination card, or COVID-19 Vaccine Record from https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/ You may email digital records directly to Mrs. Sanchez: sanchezk@mdusd.org

Due to the health and welfare of our staff and students during the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be limiting the number of volunteers on any given day. Volunteer time will need to be prescheduled with the classroom teacher.

5th Grade Camp

It is with a heavy heart I inform families that we will not attend 5th grade camp this year. Unfortunately, since our scheduled week is in January, there are just too many "what ifs" attached to going in January- right after people have been traveling for the holidays and during peak cold/flu season. I know the 5th grade teachers are looking into one-day field trips that do not involve overnight stays or relying on high school students to be chaperones. More information will be coming.
