Jamestown or Bust
All You Need to Know for Friday
Information Flyer Coming Home Today
On Friday we will depart for Jamestown at 8:30 a.m. sharp, returning at approximately 6 p.m. The bus trip is approximately 2 1/2 hours long. Details about snacks, lunch and what to wear will be coming in your child's agenda this afternoon. Your child is to go over the information with a parent and have the parent sign their agenda.
One important note for the last item, no flip flops. We will be doing quite a bit of walking over gravel and other uneven terrain, so flip flops are a bad idea.
The second is electronic devices. Your child may bring an electronic device on the trip. It is their responsibility and will be left on the bus while we are in Jamestown. In addition, all content on the device must be rated "E" or "G". This goes for games, movies, music, the works. The reason is quite simple, the last thing we want is for the student sitting next to your child to all of a sudden have the latest "Game of Thrones" episode pop up on the Ipad. If any student is found to have inappropriate content, their device will be confiscated and they will be disciplined according to the rules of appropriate technology usage they all agreed to abide by in the beginning of the year. I know this is rather harsh, but those are the rules we use daily in class and they carry over on the trip.
