Join the Reading Without Walls Book Challenge

Join your fellow students who are participating in the Reading Without Walls Book Challenge. All you have to do is read 3 books before January 15, 2018 and you will be invited to a delicious end of term breakfast. One book should be about a person who is not like you, one book should be about something you know nothing about and one book should be in a format you are not used to. The purpose is to open your mind to new opportunties. You never know what you will learn when you open the pages of a book.

Best of all, each book you finish will earn you a small prize and will open your mind to new knowledge.

Coming Soon: Look for these titles on our shelves

Try Your Hand at Creating a Picture Book.

Do you like to draw? Are you creative? Enter the Ezra Jack Keats competition or the Diverse Minds Writing Competition. If you wish to enter the Ezra Jack Keats competition please have your English teacher speak to me. One student from the school will be chosen to have their book displayed in the Brooklyn Public Library. The Diverse Minds Writing Competition will take the prize winning story and publish it. The student will have his book distributed to schools across the city. See me if you would like to enter the Diverse Minds competition.
