Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Year 7 Hunstanton trip Year 7 students enjoyed a trip to beautiful Hunstanton where they undertook geographical fieldwork and evaluated their design and technology projects. | STEM Fest - RS Components Year 8 student spent the day at STEM fest , an event hosted by RS Components. Students took part in a variety of demonstration and activities. | German Student visit German students visited the school this week whilst on a visit to Corby from Velbert, they spent time with students and staff, cooking, in DT and completing team building exercises. |
Year 7 Hunstanton trip
Year 7 students enjoyed a trip to beautiful Hunstanton where they undertook geographical fieldwork and evaluated their design and technology projects.
STEM Fest - RS Components
Year 8 student spent the day at STEM fest , an event hosted by RS Components. Students took part in a variety of demonstration and activities.

Students:
- Miss Grieves has nominated the Year 7 Girls Rounders Team who had their first fixture this week, they have all shown excellent commitment.
- Mr Chilver has nominated Year 9 students Carmen and Tamsyn for fantastic coding in Computer Science.
- Mr Hirst has nominated Year 10 student Bartosz for excellent work on his NEA in Design and Technology.
- Miss Watt would like to say thank you and well done to the Year 9 Students who took part in the German visit yesterday, they were excellent leaders and supported the German
- Mrs Arnold, Miss Fenner and Mr Cox have nominated the students who have been in Barcelona this week, they have been fantastic ambassadors for the school.
- Mrs Hopkins has nominated Year 7 student Isla for a fantastic project on Corby in History.
- Mr Williamson has nominated the following Media students, Year 9 student Adrian for a detailed analysis and maintenance of website, Year 10 student Morgan for excellent magazine design and Photoshopping and Year 12 students Jasmin and Ryan for
filming and editing maestros.
Miss Hall has nominated Year 7 students Thomas, Melissa and Chae-Thai for an excellent local history presentation and model of the old steelworks. Also nominated are Year 7 students Ella, Courtney, Ana and Rebecca for a very detailed presentation on the history of people in Corby including an interview they conducted.
- Miss McGrath has nominated the students who attended the STEM fest event at RS Components for being fantastic ambassadors for the school. Also nominated are Year 8 Scientists for fantastic work in the class debate into the use of nuclear power.
Mr Lee has nominated the Year 10 students who have recently taken their Maths mock exam and in particular Hana and Indira who won the Maths role model award and to
Lewis, Kelly and Abigail for winning the Maths achievement awards.
Prom 2019
Year 11 students celebrated completing their GCSE examinations at the Prom. This year Prom was held at the Holiday Inn, Corby. Students and staff had a fantastic night and below are a few pictures from the evening.
Year 10 Residential - Barcelona
Barcelona 2019 Year 10 student have spent the week in Barcelona visiting amazing landmarks, pictured is the beautiful Montserrat monastery. | La Sagrada Familia Students have also visited La Sagrada Familia which is a large unfinished Roman Catholic Church designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. | Olympic Stadium Students enjoyed the hop on/ hop off bus tour around Mont Jüic and the Olympic stadium. |
Barcelona 2019
Year 10 student have spent the week in Barcelona visiting amazing landmarks, pictured is the beautiful Montserrat monastery.

Attendance Matters
Every single day a student is absent from school equates to a day lost of learning. At Corby Technical School we pride ourselves in maintaining excellent attendance. Our target is to achieve and maintain a whole school attendance of above 96.5%. We will be giving you weekly updates on our whole school attendance, the tutor group and house who achieved the highest attendance this week.

- Germany Departure Time - please ensure your child is at school for 5.45am on Monday 8th July, we will leave school promptly at 6.00am.
- Belgium Departure Time - please ensure your child is at school for 4.45am on Tuesday 9th July, we will leave school promptly at 5.00am.
