Financial Aid Requirement in order to graduate beginning in 2021 -2022
In accordance with Texas Education Code (TEC), ยง28.0256, beginning with students enrolled in 12th grade during the 2021-2022 school year, each student must do one of the following in order to graduate:
- Complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA);
- Complete and submit a Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA); or
- Submit a signed opt-out form.
A student may opt out of the financial aid application graduation requirement if:
- a parent or guardian submits a signed form;
- the student is 18 years of age or older and submits a signed form; or
- a school counselor authorizes the student to decline to complete and submit the application for good cause.
STUDENTS WILL UPLOAD PROOF OF COMPLETION OR A SIGNED OPT-OUT FORM INTO THEIR SCHOOLINKS ACCOUNT! THIS CAN BE DONE VIA A COMPUTER OR A QR CODE.
Here is a great resource to help navigate the FAFSA.

College Credit Bearing Courses at LVHS
- Advanced Placement
- Dual Credit
- OnRamps - Dual Enrollment
There is a cost to the student for all 3 types, but that cost is still far less than what the college tuition cost would be. Check out Mrs. Wild's SMORE of information on the costs of these courses from last spring. . https://www.smore.com/5h16e-lvhs-guide-college-credit-courses
New in 2021-2022, there will be an online payment system for students or parents to pay course costs. The system is currently being updated for 2021 -2022, but you can access it here: https://lvisd.revtrak.net/
TSIA2 Assessments - The Pathway to CCMR Success
TSIA2 testing is available to ALL students. This is one avenue that not only shows preparedness for the next chapter after high school, but can be used to acquire their CCMR indicator point. Assessment day and time can be scheduled with Mrs. Wilde in the College & Career Center.
LVHS is beginning planning to offer the TSIA2 to all students at least once (for free) during their high school career. Students may pay to take it as many times as needed. The TSIA2 is a component of the 60x30TX initiative to create a more prepared workforce in the state of Texas. You can find more information here: http://www.60x30tx.com/why-60x30tx/
