Cottonwood Creek Summer Memo
June 2020
Greetings, CCE!
Hopefully everyone is enjoying a bit of summer sun and some time cooling off!
Summertime is an important time for all those in the field of education~ If you recall from "Stages of a 1st Year Teacher" in prior memos, summer time coincides with teacher's stages of reflection and rejuvenation. Summer time is when we begin to recuperate from all the hard-work that we did over the course of the school year. The need to reflect and rejuvenate is important no matter how many years we have been in this field.
This summer break, take the time to calm your minds and rest your bodies. Take the time to think about things you want to try the following year in your own lives, in your classrooms, etc. Think about what you have learned this last school year and how you will use/apply those skills the next school year. Summer is the time catalyst for all of those reflections to take shape in your minds and then in your actions when we return. I am very excited and welcome the new things that next school year will bring!
Check out the renovation updates that we have to share with you this month!
Thank you, CCE, for being the best!
Stay Home, Stay Connected, Stay Informed, Stay Healthy & Be Well~

Linda

Good Things...
I'll share a good thing first this go around :)
My good thing is that I can't wait for vacation beginning June 29th! I will hope to just unplug and will try to hike to get lost in my thoughts without technology around to distract me. Let's see if I can make that happen! By the way....that's a good thing for you, too! (You will not hear a peep from me via text or email...ha!)
Let's Launch! 3....2....1....Go!
“I believe that education is the single-most important civil rights issue that we face today. Because in the end, if we really want to solve issues like mass incarceration, poverty, racial profiling, voting rights, and the kinds of challenges that shocked so many of us over the past year, then we simply cannot afford to lose out on the potential of even one young person. We cannot allow even one more young person to fall through the cracks.”
— First Lady Michelle Obama, February 20, 2015
