Where the learning never stops!

Third marking period wrapup

It's hard to believe we're entering the home stretch of the school year! Due to the additional testing this year, the Battle of the Books had to be postponed until May. The countdown today (April 10) is 32 more days until the competition begins. Students are busy reading the books to get ready for the competition! SMS students are also voting this month for the Nutmeg Children's Book Award Teen winner for 2014. There are a lot of great books on the list, including Divergent and some of the titles on this year's Battle of the Books list. Students have been busy working on projects in the LMC. Eight Red students chose a lot of interesting topics for their research papers, ranging from the Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan figure skating scandal to Walt Disney to the web hacker group Anonymous. You can also keep up with events in the LMC by following the LMC Twitter feed (@SMS_LMC), which has over 100 followers!
