Principal's Post
Titan Family,
I am excited to get our second semester off to a solid start! I'd like to cordially invite you to join the Tidwell and Medlin PTA's in their presentation for parents on Wednesday, January 11 at 7:00 at the Medlin gym. We will be hosting a parent information session regarding online safety and security. A separate information email was sent home this week. Please note that due to the nature of the topics presented Wednesday night, Ms. Greer has requested and minimum age of 18 years old to attend. You can access a flier with additional information on both our campus Facebook page and below in this newsletter.
Thank you for your support as we get this semester under way!
Sincerely,
Kim Barker
Community Invited to Vote on 2017-2018 Calendar Options
Northwest ISD students, families, staff and community members are invited to vote on academic calendar options for the coming 2017-18 school year, with three options available for selection through an online poll at www.nisdtx.org/calendarvote.
The online poll will be available through Friday, January 13, and the Northwest ISD Board of Trustees will vote on the final academic calendar in February. All three options available for selection were created based on community feedback from previous school years, including requests for scheduling semester exams prior to the winter holiday, having breaks in both the fall and spring and using Good Friday as a holiday.
Each year, the Northwest ISD District Education Improvement Council is tasked with developing academic calendar options. The council is composed of parents, teachers and community members, and they develop and submit calendar options to seek input from staff and community members.

Ask Your Student About Their ePortfolio!
NISD strives to prepare students to be future-ready. One way we do this is by providing each student with a personal ePortfolio where they can upload and store showcase work, reflect on their personal growth, and communicate their learning with others. Each site is personalized by the student and housed with NISD. Students choose the work that they want to up load and showcase.
Parents please visit the links below to learn more about our student ePortfolios.
