Conroe High School Tiger Tracks
September 19, 2021

Tiger Families,
Thank you for helping us navigate through a week that included a hurricane and our first two block schedule days. We are already seven weeks into the school year! The progress report cycle ended on Friday. Students that have an average below a 70 will lose U.I.L. eligibility beginning 9/24/2021. Students can regain and lose eligibility at the end of the marking period - October 7th. Students must be passing all classes to regain eligibility. Here’s a link to the C.I.S.D. eligibility calendar: https://www.conroeisd.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/UIL-Grade-Reporting-Calendar-21-22.pdf
Students in advanced academic classes may apply for a waiver. The waiver and a list of courses may be picked up in the Principal’s office.
Here are a few updates and reminders:
PSAT/SAT - On October 13th, we will be administering the PSAT (Preliminary SAT) to all Sophomores and Juniors and the SAT to Seniors who signed up. Conroe H.S. 9th Grade Campus has PSAT for students to purchase for $15 on the School Cash Online webstore. Freshmen wishing to take the PSAT in school on October 13, 2021, will need to purchase the exam by October 1, 2021. We have limited availability. To purchase and register for the exam use the following link: https://conroeisd.schoolcashonline.com/Fee/Details/28957/195/False/True
Again, this is optional. For more information about PSAT for 9th Grade students, see the CHS-9 Section below!
- Typically, we encourage freshmen in upper level math courses (Honors Geometry and Algebra II for example) to take this exam due to the level of math tested. Please visit this website link provided by College Board (https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10/inside-the-test/math) to view the math expectations of the PSAT exam so that you can make an informed decision on whether or not this exam would be appropriate for your student at this time.
- Your student will have an additional opportunity to practice the PSAT exam during their sophomore year which will prepare them for the actual NMSQT qualification exam as a junior. Every Conroe ISD student will have the opportunity to sit for the exam for no fee their Sophomore and Junior year.
Main Campus Car-Riders - Do not pick up or drop your child off on HWY 105!
Senior Girls Pictures - Tuesday, September 21st. Senior girls who did not take pictures over the summer will have an opportunity to take them on Tuesday, Sept. 21st at CHS!
Freshmen Afterschool Car Riders - Parents, please do not park in the neighborhoods near the Ninth Grade Campus to pick up your student. We have several cars that are parking along the streets within the neighborhoods off Camelot Road. This makes it difficult for these homeowners to enter and exit their homes. We do not want students walking across Sgt. Ed. Holcomb Blvd as it is a safety hazard. Additionally, this creates a situation that makes it difficult for our school to maintain a positive relationship with our surrounding community members. Please continue to utilize the traffic loop in front of the school.
Freshmen School Pictures - Monday, September 20th School pictures will take place at CHS9 during your students’ social studies class.
Freshmen Information Sessions - Monday, September 27th
Our freshmen counselors will be hosting a live webinar on Monday, September 27th for our families to discuss credit, four-year plan and grade information. We will offer multiple sessions - a morning and an evening session for you to attend. Be on the lookout for the Zoom Webinar links.
Please join us in CONGRATULATING our choir students that auditioned for District Choir! We are so proud of all who auditioned and we are excited for the 37 students who are moving on to Region!
Good Luck to our Conroe Tiger Volleyball Team as they begin district play this week! If you haven't already done so, please come out to support these young ladies during their season!

CHS9 Tutorial Information :
We have teachers that remain after school until 3:30 Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Please communicate with your teacher if you would like to remain for extra assistance as you will need a pass from your teacher to remain after school. Students remaining for tutorials will be escorted by their teacher to the front of the building to be picked up at 3:30. Should you need your student to ride a late bus, then you will need to register your student for late transportation. The student will remain in the library supervised until 4:45 and then escorted to the late buses on campus.
CHS9 Car Riders:
If you bring your student to school by vehicle, then please remember that the traffic loop in front of the Ninth Grade Campus contains two lanes. Vehicles can utilize the inside lane (left lane) to help alleviate traffic. When our duty personnel see students getting out of the vehicle from the left lane, we will stop traffic in the right lane allowing your student to cross safely. Please remind your student to check traffic before getting out of the vehicle. Parents, please continue to drive slowly and safely in the student drop-off area. We appreciate your attention to safety and patience every day.
