Protect the Turtles

Grasslands are endangered because as it gets hotter, there is a more likely chance for them to catch on fire because of the dryness. Turtles on Grassland could become endangered because they're not getting the necessary nutrition they need to live due to whether conditions. The best thing for farmers to do with any endangered spices is to make alternate ways to make sure no animals goes hungry and die.

How can farming decrease Biodiversity?

The way that farmers grow crops and raise animals can be either good or bad for biodiversity. On one hand, farmers can support biodiversity through careful farming methods. On the other hand, if farmers are not careful, the environment and organisms on and near the farm can be harmed.

Why might farmers want to limit pesticide use on crops?

For the most part it's dangerous to the environment and humans. It contains a ton of toxins, but many farmers typically use it because it's cheap and keeps bugs away.

How can deforestation decrease the biodiversity of an area?

Deforestation means to cut down trees at massive rate.
In forests, there are a lot of living things who use trees as their habitat or source of food. When the trees are removed, the living organisms loose their habitat. After loosing their habitat those animals tend to either migrate or die out. The loss of those animals hurts other animals who were depended on them,so it works like a cycle. If deforestation is being done at very big rate, the area might end up loosing all the wildlife it contained.

How would the draining of a wetland to make way for a residential development affect the wildlife that lives in that area?

Wetlands are areas where water covers the soil, or is present either at or near the surface of the soil all year or for varying periods of time during the year. Water is drained from wetlands by cutting ditches into the ground which collect and transport water out of the wetland. This lowers the water table and dries out the wetland.

Why should we work to restore the wetlands on the coast of North Carolina?

We're not able to filter the pollutants before it reaches our wetlands. That's why alot of animals and plants are becoming extinct.
