Weekly Wrangler
December 3, 2021
~ Message from Ms. Triplett ~
Wrangler Families,
Happy December! We are looking forward to a fun-filled two weeks until Winter Break. Looking to this week, our 5th graders have Stand Proud on Thursday or Friday. Also, throughout this week we will be celebrating and learning about inclusion in honor of Inclusive Schools Week. Please see below for more details.
Happy Trails!
Ms. Triplett
Inclusive Schools Week will be celebrated during the week of December 6-10, 2021. Lang Ranch Elementary will celebrate the progress that schools are making in providing a supportive and quality education to an increasingly diverse student population.
During this time, our Lang Ranch Wranglers will participate in the following ways:
Monday:
All students will receive a bookmark reminding students to be supportive, use kind words, be
considerate, set a good example, be honest and truthful, appreciate differences, encourage others,
be respectful, and include, not exclude. The animated short “Ian” will also be shown in classrooms
to help students connect with the concept of inclusion.
Tuesday:
At morning recess, Our Wranglers will create unique snowflakes at the outdoor tables. Students are
encouraged to think about what makes them special or unique as we celebrate all
students. These snowflakes will then be displayed for others to see at school.
Wednesday:
At morning recess, each student will have the opportunity to make a card for a community helper who
works in the community for its overall well-being. These include plumbers, carpenters, firefighters,
police, nurses, doctors, teachers, etc. The goal is to help our students value and express
appreciation for all members of our community.
Thursday:
5th grade students will visit classes to read the story “Strictly No Elephants” to our students.
This story teaches students that the best communities are ones where everyone feels valued and welcomed.
Friday:
We encourage students to wear rainbow colors today to show that they are supportive of all their classmates and appreciate their differences. Sidewalk chalk will be available at the handball courts during lunch recess when students will be encouraged to write words and/or draw pictures that represent unity, inclusion, and togetherness.
It is your Lang Ranch Student Council’s privilege to host this year’s Inclusive Schools Week
activities for our Lang Ranch Wrangler community!
