Inspiring Tomorrow's Innovators, Today!
January 18, 2021
Notes from our Director
Hello DATA community,
I trust you enjoyed a three-day weekend and the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday today. We will be on our regular schedule for Tuesday classes tomorrow as we start a four-day week. This will be the third week of this nine week grading period. Students, let's be sure to attend all classes, ask for help, turn in assignments, and attend tutoring as needed. It is critical for students to stay on top of their assignments and maintain their academic success. Your teachers want to be sure you are successful and are here to help.
Thank you for reviewing the many details included below. Please continue to stay safe. If you have specific questions, please feel free to reach out.
Stay well,
Lori Murach
Underclassmen yearbook photos
During this historic school year, we are providing two ways for students grades 9-11 to get their photos into the 2020-2021 yearbook.
Option 1: Lifetouch will be on campus for appointment-only portraits on Jan. 28-29. Students who take photos with Lifetouch will have the option of using this photo for the yearbook and buying the portraits if their families choose. Lifetouch will send proofs to the school, which will be mailed to the student address on file.
Lifetouch photos will take place in the library area. Virtual students will enter from the front parking lot. On-campus students will enter from the courtyard. All students must wear masks over their mouth and nose until the moment the photo is taken, and then again immediately following the photo. All students will be required to self-screen for COVID symptoms and portraits will be scheduled to allow for appropriate distancing in line. Your confirmation email should be kept to show to your teacher if you are missing class time.

Option 2: Additionally, our yearbook publisher, Walsworth, has partnered with High5 ID to allow students to take and submit a selfie through their system. That system is open now and will remain open through Feb. 5, 2021. To launch and take a selfie for the High5 system, follow this link:
Selfies must meet the following criteria:
- In focus with even lighting, and a plain or neutral background
- Student should be facing the camera (not a profile or side angle)
- Image should be NEISD dress code compliant
- Only the student in the image (no additional people or pets)
- Taken without filters
- No obscene gestures, words, or images in the background (hands should not be in the image)
Images that do not meet the criteria will be rejected and you will be prompted to submit a new image before the deadline.
If you have any questions, please contact TR yearbook advisor Mrs. Boerger at aboerg@neisd.net
