Christmas came early this year for a few of our teachers!

On Wednesday, November 3rd, the Northville Educational Foundation awarded Innovative Teaching Grants to:

· Tara Fortino for her project, Learning through Lego! ($96)

· April Murphy for her project, Storytelling with Drums ($2,534.95)

· Charlotte Collins for her project, Music Fun for Everyone! Parachutes, Streamers and More! ($505.07)

These teachers have gone above and beyond by applying for these grants so they can initiate wonderful projects in the classroom for our students. We can’t wait to see their ideas come to life! Congratulations Tara, April & Charlotte!

These grants would not be possible without generous donors such as yourself. NEF is launching their Annual Campaign soon. Please consider donating so more Innovative Grants can be awarded next year. Go to for more details.

NPS Gets National Recognition

Niche, a platform connecting students and families with colleges and schools, released its 2022 Best Schools and Districts rankings in late September.

"While traditional rankings rely almost exclusively on metrics like test scores and academic performance, Niche's rankings provide a more personal view of the school. They combine user input - ratings from current students, alumni, and parents - with quantitative data from sources like the US Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities, extracurricular activity opportunities, and more." COVID Safety and Mitigation Plans

As we come together in learning this year, it is important to remember to perform at-home self-monitoring using the COVID-19 Daily Student Symptom Screening Tool. This screener serves as a daily reminder that children who are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 (or ANY illness) need to stay home from school. This is an important measure that will help prevent or reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our schools. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in using this screener each school day. In addition to the daily screener students and staff are required to wear masks while indoors.

Winchester Elementary Dad’s Club

Calling all Winchester Dads!

The Winchester Dad’s Club is back and looking for dads that want to make a difference. While the world changed over the last 18 months, the need for engaged dads has not. Now more than ever, we need dads to help plan events, raise money and lead projects that benefit the staff and students of Winchester.

Events include things like the Daddy-Daughter Dance, Dad’s Dine and Dash, Winchester grounds cleanup, outdoor games, and more.

Previous contributions include playground and sports equipment, and more recently the Dad’s Club teamed with the PTA on new soccer nets.
