Important Information for the Week
Edsby
Edsby remains one of our main forms of communication with families. If you do not have an active account and have not recently received an invitation to sign up, please contact Mrs. Sampson by email.
Full School Attendance
We appreciate and thank all the families who make sure their children get to school on time and stay for the full day. It is so very important that your children are with us for their full day of learning! Not only does this ensure they don't miss anything, but it also limits the interruptions for others. A reminder that our office is very busy. If there is a change to your "home" routine, please send a note to your child's teacher in the morning. If there is an emergency during the day and routines must change, then please inform our office before 2:45pm. After this time we are unable to get ahold of students in a timely manner to let them know of any changes.
PRO Grant
As you may be aware, our School Council put in an application for $1,000 towards a Parent Reaching Out Grant last spring. The application asked for funds to help establish take home math kits so students could share math learning with families. The Ontario Government announced last week that for the time being this initiative has been put on "pause". As a Council and school, we are committed to this project, albeit on a smaller scale should the additional funding not become available. Stay tuned as more information becomes available.
School Council Update
This past week your amazing School Council met to consider what initiatives they are fundraising for this year, and what events will allow them to raise funds. Our commitment to our community is to stick with no third party fundraisers so that all donations come back directly to initiatives supporting our school. Our initiatives and fundraisers for 2018/19 are as follows:
