A Peek At The Week
On Wednesday we had a wonderful field trip to the Save the Bay Newport Aquarium; we would like to thank the parents who were able to join us. I want to commend the Save the Bay staff that did a great job. It was a wonderful learning experience. I hope your child told you about all the things they learned. Ask them about the hermit crabs, horseshoe crabs, moon snails, sea urchins, sea stars, periwinkles, and many more sea animals that live in the Narragansett Bay habitat. Of course we all enjoyed the ride on the carousel!
Although there are only two weeks left of school we are still working very hard with sight words, math assessments and reading assessments. Of course we are also getting ready for our special graduation celebration on Thursday, June 9th at 9:15 am.
Looking Ahead
There will be school for the kindergarten students until the 17th, which will be a full day of school. We will be celebrating summer birthdays on June 13th, with a make your own “sundae” celebration. The children will not need a snack that day.
The field day will be on June 15th. Kindergarten and 1st grade will be participating outside from 11:40-2:10. Miss. Ouellette will be sending home information and volunteer forms. Remember you must have a current BCI if you would like to volunteer.
GRADUATION NEWS
We are completing our Tee-shirt painting on Friday. If you are have not sent one in, please do so by Friday. If you are unable to send a shirt, please let me know.
On the day of graduation the children will come to school and be dismissed at the regular time. Some parents have asked if they can take their child home after the celebration. You may do that but please see either Mrs. Romano or me so we know your child is leaving. You also must sign you’re your child out in the office. Another question has been about how many people can attend and the answer is as you want. Remember that the celebration begins at 9:15 so please do not arrive before 9:00 am. (The doors will not be opened before that time.)
