"I am not a teacher but an awakener." ~ Robert Frost

Bridging the gap is my ultimate goal. Blended Learning is a new concept which has taken roots within my classroom and is flourishing! I have to give credit to a co-worker and mentor who suggested that it is optimal to spend 20% creating something in order to help 80% of the time. I have found that creating Reading Toolkits for students, parents and peers is a step in the right direction. I also use QR codes for parent communication through Blendspace, Google forms and See Saw.

Family Values / District 2 roots

I am thankful that I have a supportive family. My husband and I are both products of a District 2 education. I am also a graduate of USC-Spartanburg and Southern Wesleyan University. My oldest son graduated from BSH in 2009 and USC- Upstate School of Business. He is now an accountant and project analyst with WABTEC Industries. My future daughter-in-law is preparing for her graduation next month and is currently student teaching at Boiling Springs Elementary. My youngest son is a 3rd grade student at CFG, a 21st Century learner, and a member of the Class of 2024.
