Warren School
Regional School District No. 6
April 12, 2018
With gratitude
Dear friends and families,
For the second time in two years, the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) made a site visit to Warren School as part of their awards recognition program. Last year we were one of two finalists for elementary school of the year, and this year I was one of two finalists for elementary principal of the year. We were notified that we were the runner-up for both awards. In each case, the committee members expressed how impressed they were with Warren School and the quality of education that we provide in our unique circumstances as a small school.
The site visit for the elementary principal of the year award took place this past Monday. It was a day that I will always remember and treasure. Our school looked amazing, and quality, pride and high levels of learning were evident everywhere.
I am so grateful to the teachers who started this journey by nominating me for the award, and the parents and students who supported me in the process. I am also thankful for the district support. Members of the Board of Education took time out of their busy days to meet with the committee members, as did the Superintendent and my fellow administrators.
I feel so honored to be the principal of Warren School and to be an administrator in our very special district. It is a joy to work with each and every one of you on behalf of our students. I am RSD6 Proud, for sure!
Best wishes for a terrific spring break,
Angela

Yesterday, Chris Waddell, one of the most decorated male monoskiers in Paralympic history, winning 13 medals over 4 games and spending a total of 13 years on the U.S. Disabled Ski Team came to speak to Warren School students. Thanks to the generosity of the FOWS, this amazing program was offered to us. Mr. Waddell's famous quote, "It's not what happens to you. It's what you DO with what happens to you" will continue to inspire us all.
