St. Mark's Parent Guild Bulletin

October 11, 2012

Thanks for your support!

It was really great to see so many St. Mark's families at the Pumpkin Patch this weekend. Many Thanks to Briar and Ian Salmon, who did an amazing job organizing this event and leading our volunteers.

We have such a wonderful group of parents that attend our events and make up our community. Thanks for all you do to support St. Mark's!

Hope to see you around campus,

Carla Singer, Parent Guild President

Parent Education Information

"We want to be able to control what other people think about us so that we can feel good enough." - The Gifts of Imperfection by Dr. Brené Brown

Join the Parent Education Committee on October 19 at 8:00 a.m. in Hauser Hall to discuss The Gifts of Imperfection. All are welcome whether you have read the book or not. Come join the discussion and learn about the 10 guideposts toward living a wholehearted life, referenced by Dr. Brown in her book. In the words of Dr. Brown, part of living a wholehearted life is to "let go of who you think you are supposed to be and embrace who you are." Are you ready?

Please let us know if you are interested in attending at parentguild@stmes.org.

Box Top Drive Update

Our October Box Tops & Labels Drive is heating up and we have less than two weeks left! Every label generates funds that Parent Guild uses to pay for programs like Breakfast with Santa, Teacher Appreciation and Field Day.

As of today, the Blue Team is in the lead with 2000 and the Red Team is right behind them with 1850. Go Red! Go Blue! The winning team receives 50 points to add to their yearly total in the Spirit Competition.
