Principal's Message
It is hard to believe we are into April already, with less than two months of school left! The fourth and final quarter of the school year is underway. Third quarter report cards were available on Gradelink on March 30. As spring fever takes hold, please reinforce with your child the importance of continuing to put forth his or her best efforts in the remaining weeks of the school year. Now is an ideal time to work with your child to set appropriate goals for the final quarter. Fourth quarter interim reports will be sent home on April 30 for students with a grade below C in any subject.
With Spring Break and vacations behind us, please be especially vigilant this week and keep children home who do not feel well. We realize there were many opportunities to be with others and potentially share germs over the break, and we need to continue to do all that we can to keep COVID-19 out of our school. As always, please keep me informed about any potential COVID-19 situations in your household. Additionally, with so few weeks remaining now that the break is over, we ask that you plan any additional vacations around our school calendar. Almost all of our students are back learning in person now, and we need students to be focused on doing their best work as we wind down the year. Please also remember that distance learning is not to be used simply to facilitate travel. Vacations that do not coincide with our school calendar make it difficult to complete school work and testing. Along those lines, our students in grades K-8 will take the final set of MAP tests April 19-May 7. More information will be sent home this spring about scores from these tests.
As we continue to celebrate the Easter season, we welcome the warmer weather and new life heralded by spring! Spring also brings with it some special events for two of our grade levels. Our eighth grade students will receive the sacrament of Confirmation on April 18. Our second graders will receive the sacrament of First Communion on May 8. Please keep these students in your prayers as they mark these milestones in their faith journeys.
Thank you to all who have donated items, purchased advertising or sponsorship, or otherwise been working to help support this year’s Celebration fundraiser. Special thanks to co-chairs Brianne Alaburda, Erin Klaus, Tara Reuscher, and Brittany Root, as well as our other tireless volunteers and staff members who are devoting long hours to make this event a success. We look forward to May 20-22 when our virtual Celebration of 60 Years event will go live! We greatly appreciate everyone's efforts and support and are excited about the opportunity to apply funds raised toward the needs of our school, especially the renovation of our school entrance to make our building more secure. Please watch for the Parents’ Association ballot to be emailed later this spring, asking for your vote on funds to be spent for our school for the 2021-2022 school year. Together, we will ensure that our school remains strong and continues to provide an excellent education for our students. Thank you for your support!
As you know, we are well into planning for the 2021-2022 school year. If you have not yet re-registered your child via Gradelink or notified us of a change in your child’s school situation for next year, please do so now. Teachers are reviewing appropriate classroom placement for students returning in the fall. The 2021-2022 school year calendar has been published and all dates are also posted on the school Google calendar which can be found on the school website home page. On the reverse side of the school calendar is information about our Back-to-School Nights, Kindergarten opening schedule, and conferences. Please keep in mind that our calendar continues to be subject to change due to COVID. An updated calendar, as well as complete kindergarten opening schedule information, will be published at the beginning of August. Just a reminder for our current kindergarten parents that current kindergarten students will not have school on April 15 and 16 as we conduct kindergarten screening for our incoming kindergarteners.
Please continue to check the mass emails and the school website for important information during the busy weeks ahead.
Wishing you all the beauty and blessings of spring,
Mrs. Woodman
Principal

COVID-19 Updates
TRAVEL QUARANTINE REQUIREMENT
As we have stated since August, we are requiring students to self-quarantine for 14 days after visiting states that have a 15% or more COVID-19 positivity rate.
As of March 10, Ohio no longer publishes the list or map of travel advisory states. The following links may be of help to you in determining whether your travel plans involve a state that has a 15% or more COVID-19 positivity rate:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/travel-during-covid19.html
https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#testing_positivity7day
Please also see the COVID-19 Travel Advisory FAQs below.
This is an extra precaution and we know this could impact travel plans. If your children are learning in-person, we are asking you to respect this decision and plan accordingly. Students who are required to quarantine after traveling to a state (or country) with a 15% or higher COVID-19 positivity rate will be required to distance learn for the 14 days.
COVID-19 DASHBOARD
We have added a COVID-19 Dashboard to our school website to report up-to-the-minute positive case data for students and staff members. Click here for our COVID-19 Dashboard.

Parents and grandparents of participants may attend but must sit in the back of the Church away from students. Masses will be live streamed and available for all to watch, and students not attending Mass in person will watch live streamed Mass from their classrooms. Eucharistic ministers will come to the classrooms to distribute Holy Communion. We will handle other religious services and events in a similar way.

We do have "emergency" water bottles for students in the rare event they forget one, but we do not have enough to provide water on a routine basis. Your cooperation is appreciated!
