Welcome Back!

We hope all our staff and students had a great winter break and were able to relax and recharge! We are looking forward to see what 2022 will bring and are ready to tackle the new year!

MAP Testing -- Winter Benchmark

Just a reminder that MAP winter benchmarking will take place during the month of January at PES and PCMS. Middle school students will be testing January 18-21 and elementary students will test between January 19 and January 28.

We Love Our Students!

The staff of Pecatonica Middle School wore matching shirts in the month of December to let our kids know how much we believe in them. We are so proud of them and just had to let them know, "Some people only dream of meeting a rising star. Our classrooms are full of them."

Middle School STEM

Energy Projects

Students in Mrs. Lenox's STEM classes have been working hard to produce projects that generate power from a variety of energy sources including solar, hydro, wind, and gravity. Students were asked to create a working model that runs off of the assigned energy source and construct a presentation board that answers some of the questions posed in the fabrication of their projects. Once completed, students presented the designs to their peers. All of the students did a fantastic job and the models turned out great!

5th Grade

Gingerbread Houses

Ms. Fowler's class created gingerbread houses to supplement their descriptive writing assignments. The students were asked make a gingerbread house and create a real estate flyer that would advertise the sale of their house. What a fun (and tasty) way to write!

High School Art

Art 1 -- Ceramic Tiles

During December, The Art 1 theme was the Ancient World. Students created ceramic tiles that addressed the Ancient World theme. The Students chose a time in history before technology existed and looked at the art, architecture, and culture of this particular time. They used what they researched as inspiration to create a relief tile. The tile had to have three different reliefs included in the design -- high, low, and sunken reliefs. Students researched many different topics including classical Greek sculptures and architecture, ancient Egyptian tombs, cave paintings, mythological stories, and African tribal masks. The tiles turned out great!

Art Club

Art Club painted the holiday themed windows at the Pecatonica Chiropractic Center over the weekend of December 4th. The students chose to paint Charlie Brown and Snoopy in a snowy winter scene. We hope you had a chance to take a look at their creation! (Pictured from left to right: Jennifer Krantz [HS art teacher], Meegan Waddell, Alyssa Schmit, and Hailey Morgan)

Holiday Doors

After our brief hiatus in early December, students returned to find the hallways of our elementary school transformed into a Winter Wonderland. The elementary school held a contest for the best door for the holiday season. Take a look at the hard work teachers and staff put into making the students' learning environment fun and engaging! They all looked great!
