The LAVA Leadership Weekly Newsletter, 5 October 2020
This Week's Theme: WELCOME!
This week, we welcome you to the 2020-21 LAVA Leadership program! What is LAVA? LAVA stands for Leadership and Visual Arts and is a program that SAISD developed with the help of a federal Javits grant to identify and provide Gifted & Talented services for student leaders.
This year, we started by offering 6 courses:
- Elementary Leadership,
- Intro to Leadership,
- Advocacy,
- Debate,
- Creative & Critical Thinking, and
- Global Social Entrepreneurship Journey (hosted by the non-profit Culturingua).
We have found that students are interested in the courses, but may not have enough time to follow through every week. That's where this newsletter comes in! We hope to offer you a video, a puzzle or riddle, access to a 30-Day Challenge, and a game each week.
