We are Hiring!
The Wrightstown Community School District is looking for 1-2 part-time special education instructional aides to support students in classrooms!
This is a great position where you can help students on academic and life skills with the teamwork of the other teaching staff. The hours are varied and would be about 24-27 hours per week during the school year. The schedule is 5.5 hours during the school day Monday through Friday with a lunch break. The person hired for the position would follow the school schedule, only work on days that students are in session, and would have a great work environment! It is a perfect position that still allows you to be home with kids before and after school. Benefits include Wisconsin Retirement System, 5 paid holidays 3 sick days, and a free membership to the Wrightstown Wellness Center! Please apply on WECAN website or email: kaufman@wrightstown.k12.wi.us for an application.
WCSD 2020 Facilities Referendum
On December 18, 2019, the Board of Education adopted a referendum question to be placed on the April 7, 2020, ballot. The decision comes after two years of facilities planning, a community survey conducted in May 2019, and two community engagement sessions held in October 2019.
The question will ask our community to invest up to $28,700,000 for district-wide facility improvements, which if approved, will result in an estimated $64 tax increase for each $100,000 of a property’s value for a period of 20 years.
The proposed solution focuses on three key areas of improvement:
Safety + Security
Enhance district-wide safety and security and improve site traffic patterns
Infrastructure
Replace and repair existing district-wide building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC)
Capacity
Expand the elementary school and address cafeteria space needs at the middle school
An informational flyer outlining the question and proposed solution will be mailed to all district residents in February. In addition, three informational meetings will be held for interested parents and community members:
February 11 at 6:00 PM | Elementary School Library
March 9 at 6:00 PM | Middle School Library
March 26 at 6:00 PM | Elementary School Library
More information will soon be available on the District’s website at www.wrightstown.k12.wi.us. Questions can be emailed to referendum@wrightstown.k12.wi.us or directed to the District Office at 920.532.5551.
FBLA is sponsoring the 5th Annual College Freshmen Panel
The purpose of this panel is to assist the Seniors of Wrightstown High School with the transition to college. This panel will consist of college freshmen that graduated from Wrightstown in 2019. This panel is open to all Wrightstown Seniors (you don’t have to be a member of FBLA) and all FBLA club members that are interested in learning more about the transition to a 4 year college. It will be held in the auditorium during reading block on Wednesday, January 15.
Yearbook
If you are still interested in purchasing a 2019-2020 yearbook, you have two options: 1) online: www.jostens.com or 2) in the front office with Mrs. Kleiber. Yearbooks now cost $50 through late spring. Checks can be made payable to “WHS” and you will get a receipt for records. Yearbooks are then picked up at our fall orientation!
All senior pictures can be submitted to https://images.jostens.com/413893674, which is a private/secure site just for Wrightstown, that will send the photo to us once approved and will also provide a confirmation email to whoever sends it in (parent or photographer). When you work with a photographer, give them this information and they can send the picture to us through this site. All senior pictures need to be submitted by January 1st.
If you take pictures at your child’s school activities/events and have good action shots of your child and other Wrightstown students that could be used in the yearbook, it would be a tremendous help to the yearbook staff if you could upload those pictures to the ReplayIt app (which is free) for us to have in our image library. This is not a guarantee that all pictures will be used in the yearbook, but the more we have to choose from the better (especially when we are looking to get all students in the yearbook numerous times). This includes things like Ruff-n-Tuff, Powder-Puff, dances, etc.
