Our 6th grade Middle Mania will be taking place Friday, October 4th here at ERMS. Our middle mania costs $15 and happens right after school from 2:30 to 4:00 and there are so many sweet things for them to do. This year, we will have inflatables, including Bungee Run, Gladiator Joust, and Obstacle Course. There will also be a photo booth with all kinds of props and photo strips are printed right then and there. In addition, you can play basketball/dodgeball in the open gym, while eating hot dogs and hanging with friends. Permission slips were handed out last week and are due back by next Tuesday the 1st in the main office.

Tomorrow is our scheduled picture retake day. So any student who may have missed orientation or those who would like a new picture taken, tomorrow is the day.

This time of year often brings illness. The question frequently comes up of when to keep a child home from school, below are our district guidelines.

A child should stay home from school and their physician should be consulted if he/she has any of the following symptoms:

• A temperature of 100.4 or greater
• Green or yellow discharge from nose or eyes
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Cough or sore throat lasting longer than 2 days
• Rashes or eruptions
• Any other medical concern

Students should remain at home until symptom or fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication. If a student has been seen by a physician, and they have been deemed not contagious, a physician's note must be provided to the school indicating such in order for the student to return to class. As always, the best way to reduce your students risk of infection is to practice good hand-hygiene.

Throughout the school year students will be earning Ram Pride tickets for positive behavior in class, the hallways, and in the cafeteria. Students can turn in Ram Pride tickets for a variety of prizes, a chance to spin our Ram Pride wheel, or even collect them to get a pizza lunch! We are excited about the positive impact that this is making on our school here at ERMS. Ask your student how they’re earning Ram Pride tickets.
