Message From The Principal
I hope you're doing well!
Here are a few items of interest as we head into the new week!
First, we'll be having some changes in our teaching staff over the next few weeks.
Mr. Cummings, one of our math teachers and resident Tech Expert, has accepted a position at Great Oak High School. He'll be starting there on Monday--and we thank him for his service to our students and wish him all the best! Ms. Love, who has been working at our school over the past four months and who is fully credentialled in math, will be our long-term substitute in Mr. Cummings' classes and will finish out the year with our students. I can tell you that with Ms. Love your students won't miss a beat in terms of their academics and their progress in math!
Ms. Jereczek, our awesome biology and STEM Lab teacher, has accepted a position at one of TVUSD's newest schools: Summit Academy. Summit Academy is a K-8 school that focuses on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). We're working on finding someone to take over her spot (not that anyone can really replace her!) so Ms. Jereczek is still with us at RVHS. We'll keep you posted as things develop!
Credit #2 Ends
As you probably know, each one of our semesters is broken down into five "credits". Each credit period is about 15-17 school days long. The goal is to help students focus on progress they can make in each of their classes during each one of these (fairly) short time periods. As we just finished "Credit #2" this past Friday it's a good opportunity for you to talk with your student about how they're doing!
We have three credit periods left:
Credit #3: March 13 - April 18 (Spring Break falls in this credit window which is why it's so long).
Credit #4: April 19 - May 12
Credit #5: May 15 - June 7
As you can tell, we're almost at the mid-point of the semester! Graduation is coming up on June 9th so everyone (especially seniors, of course) needs to take advantage of the time that remains to get all work completed and turned in!
If you or your student need assistance and want to know if he/she is on track to graduate please let us know! Now is a good time to connect while we're still in the middle of the semester and there's time to make a course correction!! Give us a call or send us an email! We want to help! You should know that we are also talking with your students; encouraging them to do their best and reviewing with them the things that need to be completed so that they can graduate in June.
Have a great week!!
Student Of The Week
Alexander Maxwell Long
I have noticed some positive changes in Alex since he first arrived at RVHS. He is very conscientious about completing assignments, and if he is absent, he makes the effort to speak to his teachers to make sure he knows what he needs to do. He is also helpful to other students and enjoys engaging in conversations, personally, or regarding classroom content. He is on a path to finish his senior year strong and graduate in June! Alex is a pleasure to have as a student and needs to be recognized as a "student of the week!" Keep up the great work, Alex!
Students may NOT order food to be delivered to school through Grub Hub, Door Dash, Uber Eats or any food delivery. If a parent brings food in, it must be left with the front office and the student may pick it up during lunch time only.

Ms. Gina --RVHS Social Worker
Teenage years are a critical time when guys and girls make choices that affect the rest of their lives. The empowerment groups provide a safe place where teens can talk about what is really going on in their lives, and a community of mentors and peers who listen, believe in them and help them make better choices. This approach gives teens permission to tell the truth about the challenges all teens face, make their own decisions on how to deal with those challenges, and begin to take responsibility for their choices and the consequences of their actions. It also provided tools needed to navigate through the teen years and transition positively into adulthood.
