The 4 C's
Collaboration- One of the 4 C's
While collaboration is one of the 4 Cs for 21st-century education, it doesn't happen overnight. Here are 5 tips to get you started:
- Model what you expect- Model good listening, paraphrasing, compromise and asking questions.
- Teach them to be active listeners- Show them what good listeners look like and set expectations from the beginning.
- Establish group norms- Having students develop the norms adds buy-in and accountability.
- Teach them how to ask good questions- Brainstorm a list of questions and decide as a group what makes a question a good one.
- Start small- This type of work takes time, patience and practice.

From the Desk of....
- Mr. Silverio: Does anyone have a Coil Binding Machine for books? Mr. Silverio's class is making books as an end of the year project.
- Ms. Tucker: Make-up Testing will take place this week in the Library. Ms. Tucker will call for students.
- Mr. Smith: Next week is the Community Awards Ceremony for 8th Grade on the 18th. It will be held at Willard this year as our Auditorium is out of commission. Specific information will be shared by Mr. Smith at our meeting today. Please see Mr. Smith if you have any questions.
- Ms. Rudchenko: Instruction needs to be strong as we enter the final weeks of school. Remember we have less than 4 weeks to make a difference!! All movies need to be approved prior to showing students by school administration and should be limited, if showed at all. We do not want students watching movies in classes throughout the day. Please see your email from ITS from May 5th. There is important information about your ARMS account.
- Ms. Elaine: Teachers: Please make sure to enter absences both in the sub system as well as Current Solutions. All other staff please be sure to enter absences in Current Solutions. Thank you!!
- Instructional Aides: Please make sure you contact not only the school but also SPED Office when you are absent in order for SPED to assign a substitute.
