Interest forms should be completed and turned in to Mrs. Philyaw by Friday, February 10th. All projects are due by Friday, March 3rd for the wax museum.
Early Release Days

We are excited to announce that tandem Beanstack accounts with GCPS and GCPL are now live. *Important: The school and public library accounts must be linked from the web. See the attached directions to link the accounts. Once the link is created, any reading logged on the mobile or web apps will count toward both profiles. Your child can now count reading minutes at GCPL and at Parsons for different challenges throughout the year!
AKS At Home
As part of Gwinnett County Public Schools’ family engagement initiative, the school district seeks to empower parents with tools that allow them to help their children at home. Our AKS at Home project provides math and language arts resources to support families of children in grades K-5 so that they truly are partners in their children’s learning. This support is available for families to access in the format that suits them and their schedule best. They can attend live virtual meetings, view recorded information, and gain tools and suggestions on how to best help their children through tip sheets on a wide variety of topics. Click the link for more information. https://www.gcpsk12.org/domain/13286

Does your child need help with a subject at school?
In partnership with the Gwinnett County Public Library (GCPL), GCPS provides Tutor.com as an online tutoring resource for students. The expert tutors at Tutor.com can help your student work through a tough homework problem, improve writing skills, study for a test, review a difficult concept, and so much more! Live tutoring support is available daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. In addition, students can receive “drop-off support,” 24-7, by uploading a document for tutor feedback that will be reviewed and returned at a later time. To learn more about how to access this resource and what is offered, click here.

Parsons PTA Teacher Appreciation Week
February 27th – March 3rd
Hello Parents!
We are excited to show all of our teachers some LOVE and THANKS during teacher appreciation week! See the themed days below for this year. Contact your class Room Parent or Parsonsroomparents@gmail.com with any questions!
Monday 2/27 – “Making Monday Sweet”. Kids are invited to bring something hand-made. Celebrate any or all of your favorite teachers & staff by sending a hand written note, card, picture, painting, poem or homemade goodie to express your appreciation. (Please consider including the teachers of special areas in your sweet thoughts and acts of kindness.)
Tuesday 2/28 – “Tasty Treat Tuesday”. Send in a fun snack for your teacher to enjoy throughout the day. This can be done individually OR as a group.
Wednesday 3/1 (Early Release Day) – “Blooming Wednesday” – Bring your teacher flowers (or a flower). Can be done individually or as a group.
Thursday 3/2 (Early Release Day) “Thirsty Thursday” – Provide a favorite drink for your teacher(s). Coffee, tea, soda, hot or cold, fresh or packaged. Ask what they like! This can be done by any one parent volunteer.
Friday 3/3 – “Friday Favorites”. Send in a $5 (or more) gift card for something on your teacher’s favorites list! I.e., restaurant, salon, store, amazon, theater, etc.
Please consider also treating any support teachers your student may have with the above day themes!
As always, participating in Teacher Appreciation is purely voluntary.
