Timber Point Elementary Newsletter September 2022

Message From Principal Evans

The Wolf Pack had another great week. Next week we have minimum days due to parent conferences. Wednesday 9/28, Thursday 9/29 and Friday 9/30, all students are dismissed at 11:40am. Teachers are excited to meet with you to discuss your children.

We are so excited to welcome parent volunteers back to the classrooms!!! Please make sure to fill out a volunteer packet to help support the Wolf Pack community.

Remember that supervision starts and gates open at 8:20am. We are having students arrive as early as 7:45 am with no supervision. Community members are reporting that students arriving early are being unsafe dodging in and out of cars with their bikes, skateboards, and scooters. Please remind your child that they should always "Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful".

Join us for the Timber Point Book Fair and support our amazing librarian Ms. Brooke. Book fair hours are Tuesday 9/27 from 5:00pm-7:30pm, Wednesday 9/28 and Thursday 9/29 from 12:00pm-5:00pm. Cleared volunteers are needed, sign up using the link below.

Fall Break is almost here! There is no school October 3rd through October 14th. Have a great weekend. We are the PACK!

Drop off & Pick up Safety Information

Reminder for adults and children to cross only at the cross walk and to follow the directions of the crossing guards. Please follow the crossing guard’s directions and do not drive through the crosswalk while any students or the crossing guard is still in any part of the crosswalk.

Keep the traffic flowing in the parking lots by pulling your vehicle or golf cart all the way forward and dropping your children off quickly, yet safely.

When picking students up, keep the traffic moving by circling if your child is not there. Vehicles and golf carts in outer lanes (non curb side) are not permitted to pick up (nor drop off); it is expected that a vehicle or golf cart is parked along the curb when picking up children and children exit directly onto the curb.

Follow the directions of the adults directing traffic and be respectful … their job is to assure all students arrive and depart safely. Proceed slowly to keep students safe!

Thank you for your help!

Do not park or Double Park your vehicle or golf cart in a drop off/pick up zone (marked clearly in yellow); students are not permitted to enter a vehicle that is improperly parked due to safety concerns.

Never leave your vehicle or golf cart unattended in a drop off/pick up zone (marked clearly in yellow).

Birthday Treats

Treats for the class need to be store bought and individually wrapped (Hostess cupcakes, Twinkies, Rice Krispy Treats, cookies, etc.) We cannot accept the bulk cupcake/cookie trays. The treats will be sent home with students at the end of the day so parents can decide if their child can have it. Instead of food treats, you can do pencils, stickers, crayons, color books, etc.

Spend a Friday evening with your family, friends, neighbors and community exploring the different vehicles and rigs that will be on the Timber Point Elementary campus. This will be an opportunity for your child(ren) to see "cool" vehicles up close. You will be able sit in them, touch them, take pictures with them. It will be an evening filled with fun for everyone. This event is open to all, not just students & families at Timber Point Elementary. Our event is a community event with our community partners. 100% of the money raised will go back to the PTA to support our school, students and staff.

Purchase tickets now or up until the day of the event on October 21st.

Children 3+ will need a ticket.

Due to the noise and number of children only licensed service animals are allowed.

Food trucks will be onsite to purchase food (Boondoggies, Ike's, Groovy Gordita & Betty's Buns)

Staff Lunch-Conferences:

On Thursday September 29th, the PTA will be hosting a baked potato bar for the staff during conferences. We are requesting donations to help fill the baked potato bar.

All items must be pre-packaged, unopened and store bought. Take a look and sign up if you can. Thank you for your donation and support.

All items can be brought to the front office on Thursday September 29th by 8:00 a.m.
