Principal Message
What a fantastic first week we have had!!! It has been wonderful to see all returning and new students.
School Visitation
Should you be visiting / volunteering at the school, please remember that all parents must sign in at the school office before proceeding into the school.
Student Drop Off
École OLPH staff parking lot is a drop off and pick up free flowing zone. Your collaboration and consideration to others will be greatly appreciated to keep the traffic flow moving at all times.
The school doors will be open at 8:25 a.m., unless the weather is extremely cold, where as the doors will be open for students to wait in the school foyer until 8:25 a.m.
Student Tardy Procedures
Should your child arrive late to school in the mornings or afternoon, they are required to sign in at the office prior to going to their classroom.
End of Day Procedures
Please make sure that you child(ren) know if they are to take the bus or if they are getting picked up at the end of the day.
Should a student need to confirm their end of day plans, we ask that all students make their arrangements during the morning recess (10:19 a.m. - 10:34 a.m.) or during the lunch hour (12:04 p.m. - 12:47 p.m.).
This will reduce the confusion and rush at the end of the day and will also ensure that your child(ren) does not miss the bus.
If a student comes to the office at the end of the day and are unsure how they are getting home, we will be sending them home on the bus.
Student School Locks
We are currently waiting for our student school lock order to arrive. If your child did not receive a school lock on the first day of school, they will be the first ones to receive one upon the shipment arrival.
A fee of $9.00 for the school lock will be added to your child’s PowerSchool account shortly. Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
God Bless,

A Reading From The Gospel for Sunday, September 8, 2019
Now large crowds were traveling with Jesus; and he turned and said to them, "Whoever comes to me and does not hate farther and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and even life itself, cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not carry the cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not first sit down and estimate the cost, to see whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it will begin to ridicule him, saying, "This fellow began to build and was not able to finish." So therefore, none of you can become my disciple if you do not give up all your possessions."
The Gospel of the Lord.

Parents of Teens - Sherwood Park Support Group
Dear Parents,
Parenting a teen or tween is tough and the struggle can be real or definitely feel real. Here is a local parenting support group where parents can go gain support, understand development and how to parent these "almost-adults-but-still-our-babies" human beings. Feel free to check out this low-cost parenting support group. All the details are included in this poster.
You are also more than welcome to come chat with me. My role at OLPH is to support children and their families to be the best they can be, especially around social-emotional well-being. Being a teenager can be a difficult chapter and I am happy to be a landing spot for these students to come and chat with. But I am also here for parents and guardians to gain support and a clearer understanding of their child's development. I truly believe "it takes a village to raise a child" and it is my honour to be a part of your child's village.
Have a wonderful day!
Mme Simone Moniz
