AP testing update
An e-newsletter from Mounds View Public Schools
April 17, 2020
This email is being sent to students and families that have students registered to take an Advanced Placement (AP) exam this May 2020.
IMPORTANT: Students registered to take an AP exam will need to complete the following two tasks:
1. Confirm student email address in College Board account AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
College Board will be delivering instructions on how to take the online exam to students using the email address in each student's College Board account. Students should confirm this email address is the most up to date one that they check regularly and can access it from their device at home to ensure they receive exam information and instructions. We also want to remind students College Board emails are not spam. If students have not been receiving email updates from College Board, they should verify the email address and email preferences in their College Board account as soon as possible.
To verify the student College Board email address:
- Student should log in to their College Board MyAP account.
- Select their name in upper, right hand corner.
- Select Account Settings.
- The system will ask for a security check and the student will need to enter their password again and select the Verify link.
- On the “Update Your College Board Account” page scroll down to verify the Email Address.
- If the email address needs to be updated, enter and confirm new email address, scroll down to the bottom of page and select Update to save the new email address.
While you are in your Account Settings (above), if you haven’t been receiving email updates from College Board, we also recommend checking your email preferences in your account.
To verify and update student email preferences in College Board account:
- Follow steps 1 through 4 above for verifying your email address.
- Scroll down, below email address, to Subscriptions section and select the “Manage my email subscriptions” link.
- Select the link “Resubscribe to College Board emails.”
- Select the “AP & Pre-AP” AND “College Board News” preferences. These need to be selected to receive all of the College Board email updates for AP testing. You may select any other preferences you’d like, as well.
- Select “Update My Preferences” to save new selected preferences.
2. Indicate free AP score report recipient BEFORE JUNE 20, 2020
Each year that students take exams, they have the opportunity to send one free AP score report to a college, university or scholarship program of their choice. Students need to indicate the recipient of their free score report in their College Board MyAP account. The deadline to indicate the free score report in MyAP is June 20, 2020.
To indicate the students free AP score report recipient:
- Student should log in to their College Board MyAP account.
- Select the MyAP Profile link.
- Select the Score Send tab.
- Start entering the college name in the Search field where student wants to send the score report.*
- From the list that shows up, select the college location where score report should be sent.
- Select Save.
*NOTE: if a student is enrolled in ARCC courses or is undecided, we recommend selecting Anoka-Ramsey Community College (College Board code-6024) as the recipient.
Students will receive their AP test scores online in July 2020. To access scores, students will sign in at apscore.org with their College Board account username and password.
We encourage you to read carefully every email that you receive from College Board as you prepare to take the AP Exams.
