The Siegrist Star
Week of December 18 , 2023
Polar Express Day
First grade students enjoyed Polar Express Day last week! Students listened to the book, made reindeer food, and a shape train. Students also watched the movie and decorated cardboard sleds. They raced the sleds down the slides on the playground. Thank you to all of the families who donated items and volunteered to help us decorate the hallway. A big shout-out to our volunteer conductor who helped make our day magical on the Polar Express!
5TH Grade Music Program
The 5th graders performed the musical Pirates 2 for family and friends at the Wilson Center on Tuesday, December 12.
Led by their captain, Emerson Ellsworth, the band of pirates are caught in a terrible storm. The pirates are shipwrecked on an island with no help of getting off....especially since they do not even know how to read a map!
The King and Queen of the High C's come up with a plan to have a talent show to raise money to fix their ship. Unfortunately there is no one on the island to pay for the show! Actually there is a small group of islanders, lead by Chief RIley Crawford, who have been watching them from afar. They tell the pirates that they have all the treasure that they need and that they have had it all along! The real treasure is friends! WIth the help of their new island friends, their boat is fixed and they are on their way!
Special Delivery
Haydyn from Mrs. McCutcheon's classroom received a special delivery yesterday! His father, Sergeant Derrik Puckett who has been deployed overseas for a year came to school to give Hayden a huge hug! Thank you Haydyn's family for your service!
Miss Modlin's class met our goal for November & December of being safe, responsible, and respectful. We got to celebrate with a special visit from Mr. Modlin (Miss Modlin's dad). He read a Pigeon story, The Night Before Christmas, and he brought us a surprise-- Lego faces that looked like each of us! We had a blast!
