Message From Mr. Fay
As a team, we did it again! Our November events were all a success. Thank you to our Veterans Day committee, led by Mrs. VanderPloeg, for all the hard work to help our students understand our need to appreciate our Veterans. The celebration was a huge success. For our annual Thanksgiving Family Luncheon, our cafeteria staff, led by Mrs. Nussbaumer, served 1049 meals. Our First Grade team hosted their annual Grandparents Day celebration. The grandparents were entertained by our singing first graders, conducted by Mrs. Studstill.
I’d like to send a shout-out to our amazing 5th Grade Fall Ambassadors, led by Mrs. Haug and Mrs. Oberg. They helped out at each of the events. Their hard work didn’t go unnoticed. They received many positive compliments. Thank you for serving at each of these events!
I often get many positive notes, emails, and comments about each of these events. I would love to take all of the credit but know it isn’t just me, it’s the Crossroads team: Students, parents, staff, PTA, and our community. We have a wonderful school for children to learn and grow. We really do work so very hard to make Crossroads a place the students and families will create great memories.
I am so thankful for the team we have here at Crossroads. Thank you, students! Thank you, parents! Thank you, staff! Thank you, PTA! Thank you, community!
Have a great December!
Mr. Damian Fay
Shout Out From Mrs. Henson
Please join us in congratulating our teacher of the year candidates, Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Jenkins, and our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Lawrence! Determining a Teacher of the Year is a difficult task each year, we have a wonderful staff that gives their all each day for our students. Candidates are nominated and elected by the staff which makes this such an honor.
The staff wrote some amazing things about this year's candidates:
Mrs. Lauren Jenkins - "She is always there to support others - her students, their parents, and other teachers. She is constantly learning new ways to engage her students in learning tasks and is so positive about sharing her knowledge with others. She is an amazing SLP!"
Mrs. Jill Smith - "Jill bends over backwards to assist every staff member in any way she can. She is always positive and has a smile on her face. She makes each student and staff member feel genuinely cared for. She does an amazing job choosing books for our library and is always asking if there are materials we would like her to order. She's the best!"
Mrs. Andrea Lawrence - "Andrea is a team player! She is always stepping up to help her team with questions, responsibilities, and getting things done. She is always supportive! Andrea meets the needs of all of her students. She takes the time to build a rapport with her kiddos and creates an environment where kids are willing to take risks in learning and are comfortable asking for help."
Again congratulations to our candidates and Teacher of the Year, the recognition is much deserved!!
Take Care -
Mrs. Kristen Henson
