Principal's Thoughts
Dear Page Hilltop Families:
We enjoy bringing this newsletter to all of our PH school community members each week. We try to fill this newsletter with lots of wonderful stories and photos of the exciting learning that takes place in Page Hilltop each day.
Before reading on, I need to share some news that saddens us all. You have probably heard of the tragic car accident on Thursday evening that involved several of our high school students, one of whom passed away. It was a difficult school day yesterday for all of us. We are a connected school community and the sadness that surrounded the high school also had an impact on Page Hilltop. In times like this, we all come together to support each other.
If you have a direct connection to any of the students, I offer you our heartfelt condolences. If you have any concerns, regarding your own children, please let us know so that we can provide support as needed.
I ask each of you to do 3 things:
- Keep these students and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
- Give your own children extra hugs this week.
- Treasure every day with your family & friends as life can change in a fleeting moment.
Thanks, as always, for sharing your children with us!
Fred Deppe, Principal
Matt Lutinski, Assistant Principal

INNOVATIONS IN LEARNING
Kristin Mayo, ASRSD Innovations Coach, has been collaborating with Mrs. Holmes and her third-grade students to implement the Little Parts EduProtocol which combines grammar + writing, which we often teach separately. This past week Mrs. Mayo and Mrs. Holmes modeled how to complete one together, and on Friday the students worked with partners to complete one. The students were asked to write one sentence using at least one proper noun, common noun, verb, and adjective to describe the picture they drew. Many wrote stories and used multiple parts of speech because it was such an engaging activity.
