Spreading a little Holdiay Joy From Us to You!

Our First Annual 12 Days of Christmas Begins Thursday, December 5th!

A Christmas song-related activity/event has been planned for each day through the day we get out for Christmas break on December 20th. It's a small way to say thank you, Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays and let you know how much we appreciate all you do to make R-MIS the best school around! We look forward to seeing all the many ways this holiday season will be filled with learning and fun for our whole school family. Let the countdown begin! -- Enjoy, Pam and Beth

Blue Christmas- Thursday, December 5th

On the 12th day before Christmas break, my principals gave me a "Blue Christmas" and encouraged me to wear jeans (or leggings) until January! It's hard keeping all the "partridges in the pear trees" this time of year so comfort is key!

MELE KALIKIMAKA- Wednesday, December 18th

On the 3rd day before Christmas break, my principals said Mele Kalikimaka and challenged me to a Holiday trivia game! For instance, did you know that Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way to say Merry Christmas to you? Mele, by the way, means “song” in Hawaiian, but that's just a coincidence: “Mele Kalikimaka” is the phonetic transcription of “Merry Christmas” into standard Hawaiian, in which all syllables end in vowels and there's no “r,” “s” or “t.” Stop by the office to pick up a trivia page. Fill it out and return it by 3:15. We will draw 2 winners randomly from all trivia pages will 100% correct responses!

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas- Friday, December 20th

On the 1st day before Christmas break, my principals told me It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas, so we're saying it's a "wrap." If you participated in Secret Santa, you will reveal yourself at the staff breakfast potluck in the library from 7:30 am-8:30 am. Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Westenhofer will watch the students in the gym longer so that EVERYONE gets to participate in our Christmas breakfast, even those with duties.
