Class of 21, There Are Some Fun Things to Come!
Class of 2021,
Seniors, we hoped you enjoyed your free cheeseburger and fries last week, and got to celebrate a little. We'd like to thank Cronies Sports Grill for generously hosting a Senior Night just for our NPHS Class of 2021.
As we are winding down April, we are getting closer to Graduation, and with that comes end of the year senior events and activities. Based on current guidelines, we are not able to celebrate like we normally do with a prom or grad night, but we will provide our Seniors with a celebratory send-off that is inclusive for the whole Class of 2021 to enjoy, as well as a traditional in-person graduation ceremony. Please read through this entire Senior Source, it has important information and deadlines regarding the following:
- Graduation Update & Ticket Sales Beginning May 3
- Graduation Regalia Rules
- Graduation Speaker & Performer Applications-Due April 30th
- Keynote Speaker Nomination-Due by May 14th
- Senior Shoutouts
- "21 Days Until Graduation"
- End of the Year Celebration Donations
- Senior Slideshow Submissions-Due April 30th
- Graduation Leis for Sale
Please continue to look out for new Senior Sources for updates, and as always, we are here to answer any questions you might have. Do not hesitate to reach out to me or our AP of Activities, Mrs. Carly Adams.
We Are Better Together!
Mr. Lepire

*Graduates that choose not to participate in the ceremony will not be offered an alternative ceremony in lieu of the in-person graduation (No Drive Thru Option).
Graduation Attire & Regalia
At NPHS each graduate is to wear a black graduation gown, cap, a 2021 tassel, and a 2021 NPHS Class Stole to the graduation ceremony. Individual students may receive specific academic recognition stoles/cords/pins for accomplishments they have made at NPHS. Those students will be recognized at the Virtual Senior Recognition Night on May 26th , and there will be a regalia pick up after that (Date & Time TBD).
Our CVUSD Board Policy states that any graduating student who has completed basic training and is an active member of any branch of the United States Armed Forces may, at the student's option, wear a military dress uniform at the ceremony (Education Code 35183.3). Any student who has officially enlisted shall be permitted to wear a recognized object provided by any branch of the United States Armed Forces.
Students shall be permitted to wear tribal regalia or recognized objects of religious or cultural significance as an adornment to the customary ceremonial attire, as long as the adornment does not cause a substantial disruption of, or material interference with, the graduation ceremony (Education Code 35183.1). “Adornment” means something attached to, or worn with, but not replacing, the cap and gown customarily worn at school graduation ceremonies. “Cultural” means recognized practices and traditions of a certain group of people.
Students are not permitted to decorate their caps, or have any other adornments without prior administrative approval. Students who desire to wear military dress or any cultural/religious adornments shall notify the school principal at least 14 days before the graduation (May 25) for approval.
21 School Days Until Graduation
We have also included an in-person event on May 21st. We will be hosting the Seniors in the stadium to watch the Sunset and their Senior Slideshow. The event will include games, a goodie bag, and more. This is a casual event intended to give the Class of 2021 a night to be social and celebrate as a whole class. Masks are required, social distancing guidelines will be followed, and Senior Shirts/Sweatshirts are the preferred attire.
The calendar above is a look at the plan, but each week we will send announcements to student learn accounts and post on Social Media with more details for that week's events. Keep an eye out for the fun that is to come!

End of the Year Celebration Donations
This has been a difficult year, and the Class of 2021 deserves a great ending. We have planned to celebrate them with the "21 School Days Until Graduation." While the Class of 2021 has raised some money, they do not have enough to fully support the 21 Days and our Senior Sunset. We have had some generous Restaurant Nights, and more to come, and some parents helped donate prizes for our Car Decorating Contest on March 24th. We are making Senior Sunset a free event for all, and are looking for some support. Every Senior will receive a goodie bag with the Senior gift inside, but we want to be able to do more and have some cool items to entice them to come to the event and participate. We will have a raffle and some games and are in need of the following:
- Gift Cards for $5, $10, $15, $25 or more to Amazon, Target, Starbucks, Local Restaurants, or any other places that Seniors would like.
- Swag Bags/Gift Baskets filled with a variety of themed items (ie: College Care Package, Movie Night, Sports, etc.)
- Big Ticket Items (Amusement Park Tickets, Sporting Event Tickets, a Car, who knows ?!? We are open to anything)
- Monetary Donations to help the cause.
Thank you in advance for any support you can provide. Please contact the Activities Department, cadams@conejousd.org or elaina@conejousd.org with any questions or donations.
