Inspiring Heather Dorniden Takes a Fall But Still Wins the Race

The Race

You've probably seen this race by now, it's been circulated across most forms of social media. Just look at that screen capture above. Heather has a foot in her face. The determination she shows after that setback is amazing. She shouldn't have been able to make up that distance, it was a 600 m sprint - but she gutted it out. It makes me feel like I could just step on the track and run that fast too. Just like watching the Summer Olympics of 1984 made me feel like I could do amazing tumbling passes in my backyard. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that I was NOT Mary Lou Retton. Benchmarks may sometime feels like you've been stepped the face. You're so hopeful going in, so optimistic. Then you get your data back and you feel a little deflated. I've seen the benchmark data, and I was encouraged. Remember - it ain't over yet! Hop back up and run faster. Heather made the magic happen in the final 100 m of the race. Welcome to the last 100 m of the race folks - let's make the magic happen.
