5th Grade Field Trip
The fifth graders took a field trip to Flandrau Planetarium.
They watched a Spanish Planetarium Show which was fantastic.
The students then went to the park for lunch and enjoyed Outer Space themed games.
Playground Update
The play structure installation is coming along. The columns have been set for the new shade sails. The new play structure will have numerous slides as well as swings. The students will be happy to know that it has climbing areas too.
Family Mileage Club Day
It was great to see so many families at our Family Mileage Club last week. The student enjoyed the support.
All of the students that participated received a special charm for the day. Many miles were logged.
VVES Science Fair Bobcats!
Science Fair is coming to Ventana Vista and we need JUDGES! If you are able to judge and even if you don’t have experience, please contact Matt Wilhelm at mwilhelm@gmail.com. Also, don’t forget: Submit Science Fair Projects by February 9, 2024. Reminder: ALL Project submissions for the 2024 Science Fair will be digital in keeping with SARSEF rules Google Slides Template for VVES Science Fair We will have an email to send a PDF of your student’s project as we move closer to the due date. Everyone will be able to login to our VVES Science Fair Virtual Exhibit Hall to see all of the submissions!
Winners will be announced the week of February 12th. Winners will move on to the SARSEF (regional) science fair!
Spelling Bee Finalist
Congratulations to Naveed K he won our District Spelling Bee and will advance to the Pima County Spelling bee which will be held on Saturday, February 17th, 2024 at 10:00 AM at C.D.O high school 25 W. Calle Concordia.
VV Band Visit ECMS
Ms. Lee took our 5th grade band students to visit ECMS to meet with 6th grade students to learn about band in middle school.

Each year a group of parents, faculty, staff and community members gather to provide input on school improvement topics. This year's Site Council will focus on Community Service & Engagement. We are open to other ideas as well. If you have suggestions for community service projects or want to be involved, please join! Math IXL
Thank you for your partnership this year in having your child work in Math IXL. We are seeing tons of growth! If you want to see your child's progress in real-time or have your child work in IXL at home, instructions for logging in are below.
To log in to Math IXL with a Clever QR code: Go to Clever.com (click 'Log in as a student' if you're on the homepage), and then scan the Clever QR code provided in your FTT folder (K,1st, 3rd). Once logged in to Clever, click the green IXL button.
To log in to Math IXL without a Clever QR Code: log in to your student's school account (username & password can be found in ParentVue), then go to Clever.com. You'll either be logged in automatically or you'll need to click 'Log in as a student', then 'Log in with Google'. Once in Clever, click the green IXL button.

Yearbook Information
5th Grade families, don't forget to send in your child's baby picture for the yearbook to Mrs. Clark.
Online 5th grade congratulatory ads will be available for purchase soon. These spaces are 1/8 of a page, 4.25 wide x 2.75 inches tall. You'll be able to submit your own images and text for a custom design in 100% color. All proceeds go to funding the yearbook. This is a great way to support your student!
For all families, we will send out information about buying your yearbook in the next few weeks.
