Updates

  • This week marks one year since SC Governor McMaster closed school campuses due to COVID-19. We dealt with so much uncertainty and fear last spring and summer. Although we knew COVID was still a very real threat in the fall, we knew that it was imperative that students return to the classroom. Our track record has shown that in-person learning can be safe when precautions to mitigate risk are followed. It has been a partnership all year - students, teachers, and parents! Thank you! #MSATogether

  • Friday, March 19 is a holiday for our students. ALL PROGRAMS WILL BE CLOSED. We thank you for understanding how important these professional development days are for our faculty and staff! Our efforts to learn and improve benefit the whole MSA community.

  • Next week is Parent-Teacher conference week across campus. Please take advantage of this opportunity to meet (virtually) with your child’s teacher. This is especially important for parents of students rising to another level next year. So don’t forget to schedule your conference if you haven’t already done so!

Have a great week!

Dr. Dana Hill

Molecule Project

For Chemistry, students chose and researched a molecule that they found interesting. Each of them had to write a research paper about the molecule, as well as make several structural diagrams showing features of the molecule. The end of the project was a full 3D structure including accurate bond angles and relative atom size. One student made theirs out of dowels and painted Styrofoam, and the other made theirs out of cake and choux pastry.
