Recording Outstanding Education

Volume III, No. 2

Nassau County School District continues to have positive events occurring on our campuses. Take a look at some of the things that have happened recently.

Buzzin' with Bubbles

Forks and Friends

Big picture
To shake off the jitters and warm-up to being a Kindergartner, Mrs. Ballard and her new class made “Forky” figures on their first day of school! As the students created their new friend, they sat together in a small group to learn more about their teacher and classmates- they even talked about the movie Toy Story 4 and its connection to the craft project! The kids felt more comfortable being at Wildlight Elementary with their new friends.

Building the Rambler Community

Callahan Middle School is implementing an Advisory program through Homeroom classes. During this time, students and teachers are developing relationships, learning to speak to others, working together, and building a community culture.

Buckets and Beginning Band

Mr. Arnold's Understanding Music class learned about pulse and rhythm by playing "bucket drums". Thank you to Lowe's in Yulee for the kind donation of the buckets! The 6th-grade beginning band students got the chance to experiment with instruments to determine what they would like to play for the next few years during the Callahan Middle School's Instrument Zoo.

Teacher Depot

The Teacher Depot is a space filled with reusable, new, and gently used materials donated by businesses and community members. These materials are distributed free to public school teachers to enhance instruction in their classrooms and promote student achievement! The Teacher Depot is located in the portable at the Full Service School (the old FIT Program portable). It will be open during Teacher Planning Days.
