in the beginning of 1908 the automobile was just a plaything for rich. Most models were complicated machines, that required help from chauffer conversant with its individual mechanical nuances to drive it . Henry Ford was determined to build easy, simple, reliable and affordable automobile.

Out if this determination, the model T ford was an automobile built by the ford Motor Company from 1908 until 1927. conceived by Henry Ford as practical, affordable transportation for the common man and or women. It quickly became prized for its low cost, durability, versatility, and ease of maintenance. Assembly-line production allowed the price if the touring car version to be lowered from $850 in 1908 to less than $300 in 1925.

At such price the Model T at times comprised as much as 40% of all cars sold in the United States. Even before it lost favor to larger, more powerful and even more luxurious cars, the Model T, known as the "Tin Lizzie" or "flivver," had become an american folkloric symbol, essentially realizing Ford's goal to "democratize the automobile"
The Man Himself
while working as an engineer for the Edison illuminating company in Detroit, Henry Ford (1863-1974) built his first gasoline-powered horseless carriage, the Quadricycle, in the shed behind his home. In 1903, he established the Ford Motor company, then five years later the company rolled out the first ever Model T.

When Ford began production in 1903, he started with Model A. There were also Model B and C versions of this two cylinder car offered. As time progressed, Ford offered other models, such as Model K was a big six cylinder car that Henry Ford hated, but his stockholders insisted he build. Ford kept experimenting with many models. Not all models were offered for sale. He progressed to Models N,R,&S which were similar cars that had obvious external differences. In 1908, Ford offered an improved car that became the Model T. Then, in 1928, Ford started the alphabet again with the Model A to symbolize that the new Model A had no connection to the Model T.
