Safe Routes to School Update
It was a great week for McKinley Safe Routes to School (SRTS). The two new Rapid Flashing Beacon Lights are installed and working on Swan Boulevard. The new speed radar feedback signs will be installed on North Avenue and Swan Boulevard later this month. These signs were paid for by a SRTS grant received by McKinley Elementary School.
If you are driving, please remember:
• Drive only in a clockwise direction around school.
• Pull all the way forward in the Hug and Go.
• Students should exit car on the sidewalk side, never into the street.
• Do not leave your car idling when parked.
Thank you to the 5th grade Hug and Go Ambassadors who helped greet students the first week of school - Mia Yencha, Owen Pivonka, Braden Dupee, Patrick Klein, Camille Socol, Sara Blomfeldt, Keagan Schmitt, Connor Neikirk, and Jane Janiszewski.
Wauwatosa Safe Routes to School is hiring a district coordinator. Find out more at: http://services.education.wisc.edu/wecan/pub/ss_vList.cfm?inst=3390
