Word From The Woods
Bishop Woods School Newsletter - 12.20.2020
Greetings Bishop Woods Families,
Happy last school week of 2020! My wish for all families is that you have a safe and enjoyable holiday season, and time to reflect on what is most important in life. It has been a difficult year, and our holiday celebrations may look different from our norm, but there is still so much to be appreciative for. I am so thankful for all of you, and the efforts you are putting in to remote learning to help your children find success. I truly believe we have the best families at Bishop Woods School!
Thank you to the many families (close to 200) that attended our supply distribution event on Saturday, December 12th! It was so wonderful to see so many of you in person! Congratulations to the following students who won our Walmart gift card raffle:
- Abby C. (Grade 5)
- Jeila M. (Grade 4)
This week we will have a normal schedule Monday, December 21st - Wednesday, December 23rd. Our Christmas vacation will run from Thursday, December 24th - Friday, January 1st. Classes will resume on Monday, January 4th. In celebration of Three King's Day, there will be no school on Wednesday, January 6th.
Our after-school program will be on for Monday and Tuesday only for this week,
and will reconvene on Monday, January 11th.
Lastly, all K-2 families should check their email regarding a separate event that is being held for K-2 students on Tuesday, 12/22. Feel free to reach out to me or your child's teacher with questions.
I wish you all a wonderful holiday season, restful break and a happy new year,
Mrs. Natalino

Community Learning Hubs
Community Learning Hubs are safe spaces for children to go during the school day for supervised distance learning with high-speed internet access, social support, and enrichment, in a small cohort of no more than ten children. Children eligible to attend a Hub must be New Haven residents in 1st through 9th grades, registered for the New Haven Public Schools, and demonstrate high need. Space is extremely limited and families with the greatest need will receive priority, so if you are interested, apply ASAP. There is no cost to families.
